In their long history of more than a thousand years of bronze casting the ancient Greeks crafted thousands of statues of gods and heroes, statesmen, philosophers and athletes that filled temples and sanctuaries, and stood in the public areas of major cities. Greek artists created hundreds of bronze statues, and their influence continues to the present day. Many of these bronze statues unearthed all over Greece are displayed in the Greek museums and many museums abroad.
Our bronze casting statues are meticulously hand-cast in sand molds by Manolis and Kostoula, long time friends of ours in Crete, Greece.
Sand casting is an art slowly disappearing, giving way to pressed products; as a result, hand sand casting art pieces are rare and hard to find. Production is limited and Manolis and Kostoula have no problem selling their art work to local art stores. Their products are inspired from ancient Greek and Minoan art work. Some representative pieces are the Goddess of Snakes, Athena in full armor, Greek horses, miniatures of Corinthian Helmets, Pan (or Satyr the fertility God) and many other known museum pieces.
